It’s a prompt delivery for DPD’s latest parcel facility

Work is complete on a state-of-the-art parcel facility at Northminster Business Park in York that has been built for Europe’s largest parcel delivery service, DPD.

The new 60,000 sq ft. building sits in a seven-acre site and was developed by Northminster Properties and marketed by Leeds based property consultancy, GV&Co. DPD has relocated to the new 60,000 sq ft. facility after outgrowing its previous York base at Clifton Moor.

The new building, which was constructed by Lindum Group, will enable DPD to serve York city centre using only electric vehicles, as well as creating 125 new jobs, in addition to the 81-strong team the company already employs in York.

The innovative facility features the latest conveying and sortation technology and serves a wide area from Northallerton to Scarborough, and southwards to Hull and westwards to Selby and Wetherby.

Paul Mack, director at GV&Co, said: “It’s fantastic to see DPD’s new parcel facility complete at Northminster Business Park in York. It’s been a pleasure to advise Northminster Properties on this deal, which will enable DPD to continue growing in York, as well as creating jobs and introducing an all-electric vehicle fleet, which is very positive news for the city.”

Northminster Properties was represented by GV&Co as well as Helen Burrows at Guest Walker Solicitors, whilst DPD was represented by Shaun Galvin of property consultants, sbh.
