Last night’s hugely anticipated Crypt Factor was won by Hannah Chappell from NatWest who lit up Elland Road with a magnificent performance of Fast Car by Tracy Chapman.
The judging panel, comprising of Craig Burrow from Town Centre Securities PLC, Dawn Allen from Pinsent Masons and Garry Howes from GV&Co, were also joined by last year’s winner Matt Hutton from Bond Bryan Architects.
After nine superb acts had performed, the four judges selected four finalists before the audience, comprising of almost 1,000 members of the North of England’s property community, made their voices heard to pick the overall winner.
Last night’s event, which was compered by Ben Hall from NorthCap, is estimated to have raised more than £80,000 for Leeds based charities, St George’s Crypt, Leeds Community Foundation and Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust.
Commenting on the success of the event, Garry Howes, from GV&Co, said: “This year Crypt Factor was off the scale in terms of the quality of the acts and the amazing support that they all enjoyed from the audience. Performing in front of such a huge crowd is no mean feat, but everyone did fantastically well and Hannah is a very worthy winner.
“As always, we’re proud and humbled by the event’s success and we’re now looking forward to making a substantial donation to our three charities, before the planning starts again for next year! Hopefully some of our audience will have been inspired to sign up to perform as we’re already searching for our next group of singers, so anyone interested should contact us now.”
Hannah said: “Performing at Crypt Factor was an incredible experience and to win the event is unbelievable. All the other singers, the judges and the audience are all willing you on to do well, which is absolutely brilliant and I’d advise anyone who has ever thought about singing to go for it – you won’t regret it!”
In addition to Crypt Factor’s main sponsors, comprising of GV&Co, Pinsent Masons and Town Centre Securities PLC, additional support is provided by the event’s official media partner, TheBusinessDesk.com, Candid PR and Anderson Advertising & Property Marketing.
The event’s hugely impressive stage set-up, lighting and sound is provided by AYRE Event Solutions.
